whatever makes life in kal a bit easier…

finding loot / surviving crowds (ALT key)

you will be able to see all the loot on the ground and also what it is. pretty useful while dealing with large or strong mobs or if you in a hurry and don’t want to leave something precious behind…
the NPC standing inside a crowd will be shown above all other member names while you have ALT pressed. lifesaver for late pvp registrations

semi auto-targeting the next enemy (TAB key)

tired of looking around and clicking single enemies? need a way to fast aim a large mob inside D7? using TAB will do this for you. range is limited tho

sorting inventory

there are two filtering options

Sort1: sort according to category
Sort2: keep your sorting, but close gaps (empty slots at the bottom)

First option is good for a really messed up inventory where you cant find shit anymore Second when you do your own sorting and want to see whenever you pick something out of the ordinary / not yet in your inv

more inventory space

temp solution: ‘Rental’ Button below inventory will let you click on the lock symbols an offer 36 slots access (30 day) for 39 jewel. Thats 4 additional rows
permanent solution: ‘Inventory space 6 unlock key’ (optional for 3 or 1 slot) ‘Inventory slot expansion scroll’ or ‘Packed Inventory space 6 unlock key’ (optional for 3 slots). But rarely available..

more storage for (almost) free - mailbox version

send the item(s) you want to store to another character (friend/alt)
reject with the other character
now the item will stay in the mailbox of the sending character with unlimited keep period

but be careful to not excessively do this on your main char as mailbox space is also limited. once full it could happen that goods sent to you go to nimbus. so better choose an alt char specifically for this and best of all don’t overdo it.

change color of your char name

open your character info (shortcut ‘c’) and click ‘Namepad’ - choose a facny color and pay 6 jewel - thats it

get starting gear for free (teacher/student system)

no need to buy gear for a new char, just use another char as teacher. can be your main, a friend or just ask in normal or guild chat. you will be given a full G8 set and can start right away

free horse

reward of the first quest is a 15 day char bound ride. don’t forget to use it ;)

switch to second server

mines full? favorite spot full of bots? looking for devah? just head over to ch2, chances are high you will have more luck there as it is not as crowded as ch1

sending mail

tired of drag + drop of items into the attached item box? just open your mailbox and switch to the send mail tab, right click in your inventory on the item you want to send and it will be attached to the message

dealing with item numbers

there are multiple ways of choosing the right number of items in the input dialog

type with keyboard
click via mouse
click on 0 (will put in 1/10/100/all depending on how often you click)
if available clicking A will use all

Chat filters

remove shouts from everything except Normal tab. it will help you see messages that have been sent while you where busy or not around. this can be even more strict. e.g. for whisper you can remove everything except for whispers you can do it via the chat options (box with triangle in the upper part of the chatbox)

search shops

to find every item with gold in its name you can:

type following into chat window (make sure to use normal tab or remove any prefix using backspace): /lfs Gold
use GUI: ‘Option’ -> (ETC) ‘Private shop search’ -> enter ‘Gold’ and hit return

The result will be that all private shops selling something with Gold in its name are marked red

Search can be tricky sometimes:

search needs at least 4 characters to work
you need to use the exact item, be aware some items have typos that you need to replicate to find them
Gold is a good example of ’not specific enough’ it will show a ton of things but might not be the help you aimed for. search for Gold Coin will get you better results
if the item name can’t be more precise (e.g. you are looking for Gold as Material which is just named ‘Gold’) use the GUI way to be able to do a pre-selection
some items do not show up on the GUI, but will be found using /lfs so switch between both ways when you run into problems

D3 shortcut

There are no Teleport scrolls to D3, yet you can get there without running all the way. Just set the Status of Black Crow in Doggebi Tower (in front of d3 entrance) as your reviving spot by clicking on it and choosing [Save Location]. Now to get to d3 all you need to do is get to Narootuh, City of Priest or Temporary Fort of Geum-Ohee Caslte and go to the Duel Tournament Desk, use [View Tournament] pick any Arena, from there use the Duel Tournament Desk again and choose [Go back to the Village] and you will be ported to the valley in front of d3.

D1 shortcut

Same as with D3, but depending on what you like more you could also save your location at ‘Status of Black Crow in Forest’ near Forsaken Fort. Distance wise its a little closer from Forest. How I can tell? Measured the map on my screen. Statue to D1 entrance is 6cm from Doggebi Tower and 5,5cm from Forest :P

D2 shortcut

Go to Pub of Giant Bird, near the southeast exit find ‘Guide for Royal Tomb of Guhbalhan, talk to him, pick [Move] and you will be right around the corner of d2

D4 shortcut

Go to City of the Chief Priest, move to the North-East Gate and find ‘Guide for Cave of Giant Bird’ there. Talk to him, pick [Move] and you will end up nearby d4 entrance.

D5 shortcut

Unfortunately there is no easy free way to get to Tower of Priest, but you can use a saving scroll inside. The last floor that can be used is F3. Just save a location on the safe zone right before the port towards F4. Now you can use Moving Scrolls to get there more easily. This can be quite time saving for dailys as you will have to get to F7 for the High Guards from time to time even when mobs in the lower floors long became grey.
